Its not like I get a discount for their bug fixes.

Do they have one guy in a wheel chair called Wilfred re-installing the servers?

Because blizzard knows that you're addicted and aren't going anywhere, no matter what they do :p

Downtime? Whut? Are you playing a different game to the rest of us?
Either that, or everyone else has jobs to go to during weekly scheduled maintenance. /shrug.

Try going outside. Odds are it's a nice day.

Im in a different country... its almost 10pm here...I went outside today thanks. Thanks for your sarcastic response though.

Most interesting thread in this subforum for a long time.

Servicing 11million people is not easy or fast I would imagine.

especially when they are spread across different time zones. I guess they decided to schedule their downtime when its not so busy relative to Paris time, as opposed to scheduling downtime from 6pm to 11pm. Wonder why they did that ???

Freaking blinking bastid!
Get back here and fight like a ... a ... something else!

Yea, unexpected side-effect of that time-zone ehy Wiz.

Yeah tis teh suck. I wish they could employ more staff and do it quicker. Its been a boring night :(

Can some of you please keep your panties on girls.. this was not a rant... its a "dammit I wish they would hurry up so I can play" thread. The OP is not serious... I dont think they have one dude in a wheelchair called Wilfred doing all the servers. Seriously now.

Extended maintenance days are few and far between. Normal maintenance generally happens while we are at work and only once a week (usually 4 hours per week). Considering everything, Blizzard have an awesome up-time. Any company on a similar scale should be trying to achieve their kind of up-time.

Why do people only focus on the software side? On a network with 13 000 to 14 000 servers, Blizzard is going to have quite a hefty failure rate. These servers don't run infinitely without any physical maintenance (switching out fans and the like).

Anyway, since I have moved to EU from the US at the beginning of the year, I don't recall a single time where I could not play due to maintenance.

So, blame Blizzard because you live in a timezone that doesn't match the realm you're playing on? Nice logic there.
I think in the almost 2 years since moving to EU I havent had more than a few hours where I couldn't play due to downtime. Have never experienced a queue of any kind, or had a server simply go dark in the middle of the evening for more than a 15 minutes. Srsly, you wanna bitch about Blizzard's downtime? Go try Aion, and enjoy your 2 hour queues, or Champions and 3 patches a day.

yeah, thats a stupid name for a wheelchair :(

perhaps they just have keep the servers off for long periods so they have some buffer time in case something DOES bork
