i notice when i forward my ports and create a manual coneection my line connects to my isp for a few hours then disconnects on it's own why ?

the speeds are great just that it disconnects every few hours and i have to re-connect it manually :(

any ideas ? i checked the idle time and it's set to never so it shouldn't disconnect when it's idle

Check your cables. If you plug the phone in on the same cable that connects to your router is there any noise?..you can press a button then listen. Always check the mechanical stuff first :)

Port forwarding should have absolutely no influence on the ADSL connectivity!

Check your line statistics (sync rate, SNR margins & line attenuation) and ensure that you've connected all telephone devices and ADSL via microfilters.

thanks for th info guys, don't think it's any of the hardware because it worked non-stop previously when i was connected directly to the router (no disconnects) now that i have a manual connection on my desktop it disconnects after a few hours.

i'll check the hardware non the less just to be sure.
