seeing that there are so many smart people here that cannot figure out any non-illegal use for P2P networks, let me teach you some maths: I want a movie, I go to the video shop, rent a dvd, make a copy, cost R15, I download it from P2P, it is ~R58 per gig, 700MB will result in R40 and the quality will be somewhat lower than that of the dvd copy, well R15 is quite a bit less thatn R40 by the way! Well, I admit, it is more inconveninent to go to the video shop than download it, but that is besides the point, if I needed the internet for downloading pirated movies, I surely have a cheaper alternative!
about the iBurst modem, well, surely if the modem cannot be used for internet connection that supports the protocols that you need, you still can use it for decoration or something! By the way, most of the weekends while I had iBurst, I was connected via dial up modem as well, so I can do the things that I would normally do, simply because the brillian extremely reliable iBurst was down (or rather the protocols that are essential for me were not working) for about 48 out of the 50 days I had it! Let see, I am not too good at maths but that is like 96% downtime!
Ok, I will try to refrain myself from expressing my honest opinion on the topic from now on, obvioulsy there are many people which are much less demanding than me, so probably it works for most!
The only sad thing is that SA will stay 10 years or so behind the rest of the world simply because most South Africans are to short sighted to see the big picture and demand some quality, it is quite sad that people so easily accept to not only pay ridiculous prices for low spec services, but they are also very happy if the service doesn't perform consistently or it doesn't do what it is meant to do!
