Settings on Auto, getting that purple hue, left of the bee

It may not be confined to macro shots - I'd almost be surprised if it was. Have a look in at some other shots - particularly in high contrast areas.

A method that was recommended to me to test bineys was to look at the edge of a whitish building against the sky. The PF shows up pretty well in bineys with poor lenses/prisms. You can try the same by taking a shot like that. What also shows it up is taking a shot of smallish branches in a tree through which you can see the sky.

Remember, camera shake can also cause some fringing, and the pic you show is not the steadiest on the planet. I have a Sigma 105 and the optics are *superb*.
