My wife has a Nokia 5 that's less than two years old. Originally, I installed a spare 16GB Class10 Strontium SD card I had lying around in the phone, but during an android update the card was somehow corrupted and the phone got stuck in a boot loop until i removed the card. I assumed the old/slow/cheap SD Card had failed and she was happy to live with the limited storage for a while so left it as is.
Last week I bought a brand new "SanDisk microSDXC Card 64GB - 80MB/s | Class 10" from Takealot, set it up as extended internal storage, moved some large apps on to it and made sure all software was up to date. This morning the phone was acting a bit buggy. By the time my wife got to work it crashed in a similar fashion as before and would not respond until the SD card was removed.
Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happening?
