Why don't humans have tails?

Didn't need them with us standing erect and not requiring it for balancing (as we don't run around in trees) :)

some people are born with a "partial tail"....forgot what it's called though.

Prehistoric humans did have, hence the presence of the coxyx in the human skeleton, howver evolution over the millions of years eradicated that need causing a change in the human dna.

We're all born with that and yea that is the remnant of what was once our tail. I think he is talking about like a full on vestigial tail that sticks out though.

As to why we don't have tails we just don't need them. We don't need them for balance, we don't need them for helping to navigate tree branches, we don't need them for anything.

Seven out of 10 caucasians are born with a tail which is normally surgically removed at birth.
