Why drive like this?

Sadly, they do. They want to get rid of it, but can't decide on a good replacement vehicle. For all it's ugliness it's actually a great vehicle to drive, aside from the fact that if you go anywhere you have to put up with people chanting "Humma Humma Cell C" (**** you, Cell C).

People like to carry their cars under their arm... like a surf board. Same as those guys that keep their arms a meter away from their waist as if their arms seem to be filled with helium.

Their arms aren't filled with helium, they have ulcers in their armpits. You should express your sympathies with them whenever you see it.

I however do have a question to be answered by the coloureds, why does certain individuals slump way down into the corner behind the steering wheel while driving?
If I asked that question there would have mean a moerse load of racist cards been pulled against me

My question is by no means racist, it is a daily observation. I asked the specific target group in order to receive a appropriate response to my question. I'm interested that is it, should it bother you then I will humbly apologise.

My statement was not directed at you even though I've quoted your post. I find nothing wrong with what you've said because I see the same thing with many young coloured guys

A/C in a 1.4 while town driving? Sorry boet I need those extra 10 kWh

Jeez do you drive like a super old car?

New 1.4's you don't even feel the aircon being on.

And I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near 10kw. Maybe 3-5 at worst.

Coloureds, plaasboere, tcharros - everyone does it.
I don't see many black people doing it though - must be because their 335i convertibles with the roof down is enough cool air ;)

On occasion when I do it - its simply cos I drive an automatic and only really use aircon when its super hot.
So my arm will hang out for no other apparent reason then it has nothing to do while driving on the freeway and I'm trying to cool down.

You honestly shouldn't notice any difference in power then.

A small drop in revs at idle and that's it.

I mean why drive a car with aircon and then not use it?

*****

All of that being said I don't understand the behaviour at all.

I despise having the windows open at anything over 40km/h due to the noise and even then they'll only be open a crack.

So it's pretty much window closed permanently and aircon if it's too hot.

Um why drive a car with Windows and not use it...

I drive a new 1.4 Rio and it is almost impossible to drive in town while using the aircon. It saps so much power.
