Read the who article.
Could not find the real reason.
What's the real reason?
My take. Barnes wanted Postbank completely controlled by Post office. Government wanted Postbank to be independent structure. Government always wins.

He wanted drones instead of birds to deliver mail.

Won't last long with ideas like that.

My impression is that he rescued SAPO from death.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) strike in 2016 nearly killed SAPO.
Last three years have been tough, but SAPO seems to be improving.

The post office has one job, to receive and deliver mail and packages. It's nothing new, its been done for decades. How can you try and take on more of you cant do that one thing right?????
Incorrect, it's more like millenia.

The Romans were quite good at delivering mail.
