Why I quit: kernel developer Con Kolivas

Just one of the many reasons I switched from Linux to NetBSD. Way too much in-fighting and bloated egos which gets the platform nowhere quickly. A real shame they ignored him, he had the O/S's best interests at heart.

The -ck and -cks patchsets will definitely be missed. There were also some nice patchsets like -beyond based on -ck that included a lot of extra stuff like suspend2 etc. I think Con's passion may have worked against him, as with the merging of Reiser4 and the mainline kernel. (O.T. Wonder if they found the body of Han's Reiser's wife yet. Not a good idea to annoy a programmer with a compulsive personality.)

I think the main reason ppl switch to developing on NetBSD and FreeBSD is the BSD license. The NetBSD core team has also had some sparks fly due to egos, let's not forget how OpenBSD came about :p:D.
