Why so many DNS lookups that fail?

Recently I've been struggling to connect, cos I'm getting frequent DNS lookup errors.

I'm wondering if the problem is with Vodacom's DNS servers, or is it a problem with Hauwei's software?

Just wondering....

Try OpenDNS and see if it resolves the issue.

Is your firewall blocking DNS requests?

OpenDNS IP's

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

I've tried it, but it doesn't really help.

So many times when I've connected via the Hauwei's dashboard software and open my IE browser, it just says 'Looking up www.google.co.za' and then times out. :(

Any other sites giving issues?

Are you able to type in the IP instead of the URL and browse that way?

Maar hoekom gebruik ons nog Engels? :D

Hoop die koning kom reg :p - dit mag dalk wees dat Vodacom DNS requests nie reg relay nie.

Maar is die koning seker daar is nikse vuurmuur programme wat DNS blok nie?

Dit lyk darem of dinge nou beter gaan, nogals lanklaas 'n DNS lookup failure gekry...touch wood!!!
