Why solar is such a f_ckup.

5kw batteries are more between 25k and 25k at the moment
As I understand it, it should not be R40K+ But it is kind of why I started this whole thing. Buying solar is a f.uckup. That is why I grabbed a second-hand system.

FreedomWon is a top tier battery with a 10-year warranty and 100% DOD and super high discharge while also being IP65 rated so it can be installed outside which is why it costs what it does.

A battery is not a battery is not a battery.

You could have done this for much less money and more applicable to most applications.

I hope those are wheels at the bottom there. My lower back hurts when I look at that.
Not sure but my a.ss is hurting from all the pitchforks!

Again I don't take any of this seriously. It is a good debate, with some funny stuff and a few people that took it way too seriously.

My SO just told me It is time to braai the only good thing that came from load shedding.

Well if you want to present yourself as an idiot don’t be surprised if people treat you like one.

I learnt quite a bit from this thread, so it was worthwhile for me.

Start one about Russia being the good guys or natural immunity being better than a vaccine if you want to see people get serious.

I recommend one of these, you can take it orally or rectally.

I am going to braai, and play some Dota 2 with my SO.

Yeah. Eventually, no matter how the politics play out. Units will get more expensive. At least in line with inflation.

Don't see how the R10k inverter plays out with a R40k battery tbh. R40k battery must be like 10kWh, but what kind of hybrid inverter do you get for R10k?
Dunno about a hybrid for R10k, maybe an Axpert clone.

I wouldn't skimp on the inverter, it's probably the most important component in the setup.

5kW/8kW Deye/Sunsynk and 5 kWh battery at a minimum. This should come to R70/80k installed depending on the inverter size. This will provide the best upgrade path...

This my money / not my money thing is still confusing me.

If I take out a loan for R1m and deposit those funds into a savings account, is the money in the savings account considered my money?
I am just as confused, as far as I'm concerned an access bond is just a fancy revolving credit account with lower interest rates, that "available" balance is the same as the one on your credit card.

Anyway however people choose to fund their solar system I think at this point in time is an absolute no-brainer, Eksdom is just going to get more and more expensive, they will increase the fixed charges they have already and dream up new ones in future.

And that's before you calculate the improvement of your quality of life.

It’s nothing like your credit card or overdraft.

It’s not money the bank is fronting you that’s available for you to use if you do choose, it’s money that you put there…a debit of your own money that lives there as an offset.

It’s not a credit account at all. It’s a surplus debit that you put into the home loan.
