Hi Everyone...I'm newbie on this forum and I have a few complaints myself...I'm still on normal land line using 56K modem...I have applied twice for ADSL but they keep saying that it's not available...I once asked a Tech guy when we were getting it he said Never...Because the cards they using are too expensive and we get lot's of lightning HaHaHa As if we were the only ones who get it(Thunder and Lightning) They must of heard about lightning protectors by now)...The ADSL runs from the exchange to the Box? at our T junction road , and goes back to the exchange, that's as far as it goes our way......The Control box is about 200 metres from where we are...
As far as Infinit call is concerned at the end of the day it can work out more expensive as ADSL BUT the advantages are much greater with ADSL than Anologue lines... My download speed at the moment is Approx: 2.5kbps which is poor...They say that my line is enabled with the Exchange but there's no Equipment and something to do with the cables...WHY because I'm out in the sticks...There are at least 7 of us in the area that I know of with this same problem...They cannot even give us a date when and IF we are ever going to get it... Don't know where to make equiries about this...NOT FARE... Why can't we be on 24/7 with ISDN seeing that it is available in our area...at ADSL Rates...Until we can get ADSL...After all it's not our fault we cannot get ADSL...Yes ISDN is available but Expensive...Talk about getting communication Around the Country...I have tried various Wireless Companies they too Don't have coverage in our area and their hardware is so expensive...So can someone tell me what is the solution to all this???...Don't suggest moving, I've been here for 15 years along with Telkom...What gets me is that our exchange is enabled The control box is just up the road...
