Hi,

The long delay between ordering, testing and eventually intallation is quite funny.

It's a week since I ordered a new ADSL line for a client. Not a word from Telkom yet. I called them to make sure the order did not go missing.

Obviously Telkom can't keep up installing. Why not appoint more people? Or is Telkom creating an environment where it can claim that ADSL had no real market impact and there is no demand for ADSL in SA?

I wish we had a second operator - then I would have placed the order with the clause: "First to install gets the contract!"

Also have the problem of ordering / installing ADSL for a client.

Soonest date was 16th October 2003, so we are looking at 3 weeks.
this is unacceptable as the only realistc changes that have to be made is that the copper has to be moved to a different port and that is it. I know how to configure the router etc.

The availability meter on their site is no good as it says my exchange is enabled but no joy yet.

why is this such an issue?

The long delays is an honest reflection of Telkom's attitude to customer care and service.

They are simply not interested to provide a World Class service.

I ordered ADSL almost 2 weeks ago.

Not a word from Telkom yet on testing.

I called to confirm the existance of the order, and was told to be patient.

Please remember, Telkom believes they only have to provide a best effort service. Not a country building service.
