Why the noise about local cap?

great local sites

I think www.zoopy.com has great potential and I watch all their content after my cap is exhausted. However as of tomorrow if I use Zoopy -which is hosted locally -I will be eating into my international cap--so I probably wont go to Zoopy again until the end of May .
I know that Zoopy is 75% owned by Vodacom---I wonder if Vodacom has any leverage over Telkom to get the cap rules changed so we can watch Zoopy all month long using our local bandwidth instead of our international bandwidth?
Anyone with any contacts within Vodacom want to take this further?

In my experience local is not lekker. One thing to add is that when you get capped, everything slows down because local sites use google analytics, which isn't local and I'm convinced causes the slowdown.

Correct, though it is possible to circumvent situations like that by editing your hosts file, as described at Wikipedia. However, as with the traffic splitting solutions, not very straight forward for the average person. :(
