So I need some assistance, I started a Bcom. Business Management three years ago and have completed 16 modules. I received an e-mail from UNISA saying

"Kindly be informed that you have to be transferred to the new curriculum (Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management – 98310) because your academic record shows that you cannot be able to complete the Old curriculum (02011) on or before 2013 academic year. All subjects will be credited on the new curriculum except MNE2601, MNC202M, INF1520, IOP1501, INM1013 and INM1024 which are not part of the new prescribed curriculum."

So the problem I face is that I won’t be credited for 6 modules, if you take it on an average of R1000 per module excluding the books and time I put into this I feel very de-motivated.

So my question is would you continue with the degree, are there any other business related short courses that are SAQA credited. Not really sure what to do.

I was studying this degree part time, to try and move into management. I am currently within the telecommunications industry working within the technical/IT field (12 years)

As hard as it is nothing beats an education. My suggestion is just stick it out, you have invested so much time, enegry and money into this and come too far...

Usually you can see by which date you need to complete the qualification by when registering. Its best to trey & complete everything by then to avoid these types of situations.

Yeah just keep going. When I get people coming for jobs with all but 2 credits for a degree and then stopped I don't consider that an education. You need to finish.

Same thing happened to me, its a bummer and has added another year to my studies. Was hoping to complete in 2013 but know two of my new modules are only offered in 2014.

All I can say is keep going.
