Itried the fixes on the net about the virtual scrolling with the touchpad. This synaptics bugger just wont work properly in firefox, but in ie8 and other browsers it works great.

Sometimes i just hate myself for being so clever:rolleyes:.
SO what else is there to try.
1-updated drivers
2-rolled back
3-uninstalled and reinstalled FF
4-all the above again.

Not to be an ass, but do we have to beg to know what the problem is? You said it doesn't work, what doesn't work?

I think that the problem might be that if he "scrolls" via the virtual scrollbar on the touchpad, it acts as a mouse and not a scrollbar. I've had this problem now and then, but it's usually driver related.

driver related not a chance. Why does it work with everything else in windows except firefox.i saw a similar problem with acer on the mozilla board, cant remeber where...damnit

sorry like frrot said thats the problem.I am busy with 3 pc's at the same time so i am not alll there or here.Tera so sorry for being a A$$:):D

aaah... OK... now we getting closer. I don't think mine works either... but I never use it anyway, so I don't miss it. I hardly ever use the touchpad anyway.

Open the Synaptics Program, Click Device Settings> Click Disable> Click Apply. Wait a few seconds, click Enable, click Apply, now click Settings. Got to Virtual Scrolling> Long Distance Scrolling, Enable Coasting and Enable Edge Motion, click Ok and try it again.

Keep your finger to the right side of the Synaptics pad(if the mouse is right handed, or else keep it left), scroll up or down in firefox (make sure the webpage is long enough).

To use Coasting, scroll faster down or up and lift your finger, it should scroll automatically.

Let me know if it works.

So I guess the pc blew up? Why are you taking so long? :p

Can some explain to me what this Virtual Scrolling is? I use Synaptics on Linux and all types of scrolling I used in Windows using FF works for me in Linux using FF.
