Why would you do that?

I had a Kadett 200tS about 15 years ago. After a drunk old coot drove past my parked car at a leisurely 10 km/h and scraped up the side the car was completely resprayed and the panel beaters never put any badging back. The car looked nice without any badging

  1. It’s just water.

Infinitely more mindless is letting your life waste away while sitting in inevitably more hectic traffic and therefore being there much much longer than the ridiculous time you usually sit in it.

    It’s no way to live.

The insanity is actually why wouldn’t you?

Agreed - I actually went back to commuting on the bike because of the rain. 3 hours to get from JHB CBD to Midrand one Friday afternoon, went out and bought a bike the next day. The most I have ever taken now is 40 minutes, slow splitting beats sitting going nowhere. 30 mintutes after getting home, dried out and warmed up. Joe Bloggs is still sitting at the Grayston offramp

Some of these guys in the Western Cape, like respraying their cars, then just leave all badges off. Then they drop the car to an inch from the ground and klap on some 22" mags with tyres as thick as duct tape.

Yes, and this boggles my mind. To hell with resale value. Who cares about safety. lol

You make it sound like fun to take the bike in the rain.
But it really is not. I hate the feeling of the water dripping down my helmet into my suit and then running down my back.

I'm ashamed to admit I only take the bike when the weather is great, which is 99% of the time for me. Days like today, forget about it, I will take the car.

You need better gear.

That doesn’t happen with appropriate gear.

It can be tremendous fun, especially opposed to everyone else who is miserable in traffic.

My life is much more precious than that. The way that people drive in the rain, makes me scared even in my car, let alone on a bike o_O

Only a concern if you plan to be an idiot about it.

Same applies to a car really.

I am not too sure, on the N3, i even witnessed a lady taking multiple selfies in her brand new 1 series (the old gen) in traffic driving probably 40km/h... So not sure if i am willing to risk my life with these idiots on the road.

Fortunately for their inattention, those drivers are super predictable and you can spot them from miles away.
