Why you should check your USB ports before using your PC

From the article:
The company found that the target PC identified the Raspberry Pi device as a wired LAN adapter and assigned it a higher priority than other available network connections. The PC also gave it access to data exchange on the network.
So only check your USB ports?

You might as well say don't connect to any network at all because it amounts to virtually the same thing.

Man in the middle attacks are everywhere...and you can't see them so it's a bit daft even worrying about your USB port.

Paranoid Central.

Group policy should take care of the USB issue. 802.1X should take care of the LAN port issue. Access control should take care of the intruder issue.

“However, researchers were not able to reproduce the attack on Linux-based devices.”
Typical, Linux users left out in the cold.

So they connected it to an unused terminal to capture network traffic and then again to send authentication passwords? How does checking your ports help with that?

You shouldn't have to. Just shutdown unused ports. IT should do this
