I know some people that are praised for their "hardwork" simply due to the fact that they are incompetent at their job, thereby doing it inefficiently thereby causing them to constantly be "busy". Constantly playing Whack-a-mole essentially.

On the flip side, I know some people who are efficient at their job, which means they appear less franticly busy, which causes the "you don't look so busy" comments to float around.

Guess which group gets the most flack from management.
