The usual off the shelf AV senders like the Ellies one , can transmit AV+remote blaster signals up to 30m(claimed) over 2.4Ghz. This range is not good enough for me.

I want to know , if i add a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi Signal Booster like http://www.sparcotech.com/products/amplifiers/BA24j.asp
to an AV Sender with aerial , will this improve my range ?
Im looking at going about 70m-100m and maybe through a few walls.

Or what are my alternatives ?

What about Poynting Long Range Antennas http://www.poynting.co.za/pressnews.php?id=19
Is it possible to use their long distance antennas and possibly make the AV sender send using this external wifi antenna? Any help would be appreciated.

The problem is how are you going to connect the AV sender with the Signal booster? I used the AV sender for a while and with my receiver on one of the channels (changing the code at the bottom), I could pick up a wireless camera about 2 kms from me

Well , with the booster , it looks & works like a normal ADSL Router aerial , so it simply screws on , and works fine , but I would then have to get an AV sender WITH the aerial fitting , Ellies AV sender does not have the aerial.

Im just concerned with the range it will get AFTER the booster, and I dont know any South African companies that stock the 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi Signal Booster , coz if it doesnt work , then im 2grand short.

Just upgrade the antennas... much better idea, and you wont cause interference with your home wireless network...

+1

Rather go with high gain antennas than pollute the airwaves with (illegal) high power. Get two Poynting 18 dB grid antennas. Last time I checked they were on special.
