Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting on Windows 8 64-Bit

Hi,

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit to Windows 8 Release Preview 64 Bit. The operating system is all good, I would hate going back to Windows 7 Now.

I have one issue now. My Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. I checked under device manger, right click and said check for driver update. I told it to check on the internet and it said that it is the latest.

Could this issue lie with my router or laptop?

I have:

Netgear DGN2200Mv2TELKOM ADSL Modem

Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6230 Wi-Fi card on my laptop.

How do I solve this issue?

OP: If you didn't, could you perhaps try installing the Win7 driver from your driver CD instead of using MS drivers?

check to see if your wifi is set for idle timeout to save power. Make it always on.

Win8 isn't released yet, so it's most likely that your laptop hasn't had its drivers upgraded yet - check on the manufacturer's site and ensure that you have the latest drivers installed.

How do I find this setting on my modem? I use a Netgear DGN2200Mv2TELKOM.

This is not a setting on the Netgear but in Windows.
Go to Networking and select the adapter then configure and you should see power management as one of the tabs on the top.
Select that and untick the allow computer to turn off box.

If that doesnt help then you may have to wait for the official version of Windows to come out.
