Widescreen LCD's

Probably falls under the category of "TV"?? And TV's get hit bigtime when it comes to customs
 
I just landed 5x 20" LCD's, and cleared through customs....nothing about this 'new' 20" law.....

Doesnt sound legit to me.

Dont know why 'newer versions' would ship with 'older technology'

Thats exactly what I am thinking. it doesn't matter. unless you got 21/20 eye sight and examine the screen for hours on end, the analog will be fine.

I did notice that opening up some apps, that extra real estate is awesome. it must be insane on a 20" at a higher res.
 
I was in Makro today and went to check out the Lcd's they had, the fujistu siemens W19-1 comes with Dvi, they also said it comes with a 36 mnt gurantee, its R2 500 and thats not a bad price for a widescreen.

Why has it gotten so much more expensive, if u don't mind my asking?
 
The supplier pushed up the cost, because their landed cost increased. Rand dollar exchange plays a part in this, as does the international demand for the LCD. - basically, supply and demand. We've tried to keep the price as low as possible, and are hoping we will be able to push it lower the shipment after this shipment.

I see Digital Planet has this Samsung widescreen for only R2278.

That's bloody fantastic! About time someone like Samsung brings their widescreens in. Anyone know if the 205BW is available anywhere?? That's the 20.1" widescreen from them. Any Samsung dealers know?

Sorry to bring a half-a-year-old treat back to life, but the Samsung 205BWs are now very freely available allover the show (many stores), at around R3500 inc VAT..

I am about to get me one, but is there anybody out there with a bad opinion of this screen?

Or anybody seen this screen for sale at less than R3500 inc VAT?
