Wierd network problems

32k should be fine .. i havent used the other SIM mentioned above .. i cant comment on them

So you recon my old "chopped" 32k VC SIM should be fine, it's been sliced to half the thickness due to datacard use, but still works.

I just challenged the VodaShop in Centurion with a few questions. Amazing how much friendlier they got when they saw what my average spend was.

Asked them if I would get a new USIM with the phone, they are still chewing on their answer.

I have had similar problems with the K-Jam and also with the TyTN which I got about 3 weeks ago. I set my network band to GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100) and that seemed to help a lot and I hardly get any dropped calls now.

I have the 32K sim so I doubt the problem is only related to the 64K Sim? Prior to changing this setting I was getting many dropped calls which all went straight to voice mail. The K-Jam still does this but it's only a back up phone now and there only for emergency so I am not really too worried about it.

We have several PDA Devices, TyTN's K-Jams etc and have noted this same behaviour on all of them.

We have a cell booster installed on our farm so around the house area the signal is excellent but we are sitting between about 4 different towers and if I am on a part of the farm where I am not near the cell booster then it can be havoc trying to make or receive calls simply because it jumps from tower to tower every minute or two. Wish there was a way to enter a tower number and tell your phone stay connected to THIS tower. But I doubt that would ever happen.
