WiFi 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz

Hi Guys, some input please. Which is the best channel to connect to with my Roku and TV. On 2.4Ghz I get Good signal strength, on the 5Ghz only Fair.

I currently use the %ghz exclusively for my Roku and Tv, and all other devices connect to 2.4Ghz channel.

Does this seem right?

2.4 can go through walls and other obstacles much better than 5. If there is nothing in between the Roku and your router, use 5.

Personally, I now use Powerline to connect my media player to my router.

That's exactly how they were intended to be. 2.4GHz for range/coverage and 5GHz for higher throughput.
