Wifi 6 / AX Routers

Currently have a TP Link Archer C20 router (https://www.tp-link.com/za/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-c20/#specifications)

And as far as I can tell it does everything we need. However, wifi signal seems to not be the best, thus I've run ethernet cables to both TV's with wifi range extenders in both places as they are opposite ends of the house.

I note newest tech is wifi 6 / ax. Do I need it? Why should I consider getting it?

If I need it, then I'd like to get something now on Black Friday.

Most devices and home Internet connections don't even utilise the full AC speed so no you don't need it

Range extenders aren't great at the best of times. Running cable was a good move but to improve your WiFi generally its best to utilise either a mesh system that can be ethernet backhanded or distinct access points.

Wifi6 and 6e (AX) is best in scenarios when there are a lot of wifi devices all talking..it allows for more spectrum to be used and has better management of multiple devices on a wifi network. But both the router / access point and device need to support it. Most newer phones and laptops will support it but if its one or 2 devices in your overall home then it might not be worth it (yet)

Edit: having said all that that's a decent price for that device. I know the Huawei ax also starts at that price and it supports meshing

That really is a good price, I bought 2 AC58u for R819 to extend my AImesh, this isn't bad at all.
