Howdy

I am currently using a D-Link 2750u as a wifi acccess point. I would like to replace it with a proper AP for wifi access.

All my rooms are hard wired so I dont need an extender.

Can you recommend any specific make and model that is both affordable and efficient.

Thanks

Yup, better range and stability.

We use a combination of devices at home and continuously have to reboot, reconnect to wifi AP.

Sounds like it's faulty.

I'll second the Ubiquiti UniFi stuff, you'll probably have to do some Googling on how to set up though.

There are also other options.

My suggestion: UniFi AP's.

There is also Engenius (They are very easy to set up and configure), and then there is Mikrotik as well. for the Mikrotik option you will have to be familiar with Mikrotik. You can also go with TP-Link and Asus routers to act as AP's.

The Unifi is brilliant, and with the new controller software it's a breeze to setup and maintain.

So Ubiquiti it is.

Mr PostmanPot, can you recommend a good reseller - know you dabble in the hardware stuff.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I have ordered a Unify. Hopefully will be here in a few days.

Cheers
