wifi camera

Which wifi camera do U use.
I have a place where i cannot place a cable.
If you can't place a cable there, how are you going to get a power cable there..? WiFi cameras still require a power cable..

There are a select few WiFi cameras that run on rechargeable batteries.. however, the downside with those should be quite obvious..

There is power and wifi coverage. But you will need some way to rx the video stream.

This is a multifuntion unit that you arm with app, when the camera detects motion it has a siren and light that goes on if night, and it send alert to the app. Operates with 12V, can use a prebuilt CCTV cable to carry the power.:

I bought a few of these rechargeable WIFI cameras from Banggood for R500 a pop a few months back on a group buy:

It's very useful when you don't want to spend thousands on proper CCTV with wires all over the place. You need to make sure you have a good WIFI network else it can lag, and to note that while it can run for 2 months on a single charge, it does so by means of going to sleep when no motion is detected so unfortunately it will only record when there is motion and you won't be able to access the camera remotely if it's in sleep mode. I think this is consistent with how other rechargeable WiFi cameras operate. Wired cameras will always be better if it's possible.

We have a few lights where I'd like to place cameras but running cable there would be a shlep so I can think of the use case. Connecting to wifi would also be easier than connecting multiple cables. It's also possible to use small solar units.

I would look at the Ezviz and Tapo ( TP-Link) ranges.

Or maybe even at something like this for if outside:

Check out the reolink wifi cameras

I have the Argus 2 with a solar panel. Lags sometimes but generally fine.

Works well. Just prefer POE cameras.
