WIFI - Can it be scrambled / jammed

Sounds like interference from some sort of radio transmitting device (either intentional or unintentional).

ICASA would probably be the place to go to, complain about radio spectrum abuse.
If you have a dual band router, suggest try the 5ghz spectrum, its much less congested than the 2.4Ghz space.

Usual culprits are noisy electrical devices - motors, microwaves ovens or similar. Or possibly an burglar alarm transmitter.
Must be something close to you, so check with your neighbours if they have some new equipment that might be causing it.

If this were the states you could call the FCC. Here, its ICASA...

Thanks it`s now sorted - After a VERY lengthy trouble shooting session , I managed to find out that my media player has an external WIFI connecter and that seems to cause the issue. A simple power disconnect of this device opened all my wifi again!!! Thanks to eveyone`s response and meaningfull imput! JUST HAPPY IT`S SORTED !!!!!!!

Cool stuff. Please explain in a bit more detail how you figured it out, what you used, and why it was causing interference. We'd all like to learn a bit from your experience.

I need some help please. I suspect that somehow someone in my neighborhood might be jamming my wifi signals perhaps intentionally or unintentionally?
I cannot connect any device to my modem as it simply does not find the wifi signals.
If I am lucky and do pick the wifi signal, it takes forever to connect and then loses connection never to connect again. This was tried on different laptops , mobile phones and tablets.

Some Background:
Everything was working fine up until a few days ago.
I do have internet connection via LAN cable that goes into the router/modem.
The router has been factory reset and powered off multiple times)
I went to the store and actually replaced the router with a brand new one and the same happens .
Have changed my channels to different numbers in the router config , no joy.
Took the router to my work office (which is out of the area I live in) to test and it works normally with my original router config and not changing anything. Thus proving the router is working as it should.

Is there any way , that I can run some sort of trace to see what is causing the interference and perhaps block that in any way?
Or do you know of someone that can assist to do this?

Would really appreciate any help or assistance

Also not sure if any mobile towers could affect this in anyw way ? We have rather large towers (not the normal one) not very far from us and not sure if the service providers have switched something on etc?

Hello, perhaps your Wifi password was cracked your neighbor, then he can use your Wifi thus causing your bad signal and affect your network speed. Such a situation is generally very simple solution, ah, you just change it to your home Wifi password on it, maybe you can force the password more of!

Welcome to mybb and forums in general. The matter is resolved in the last post from OP, above yours...

Hi there. I have the same issue. But this time it is intentional. My wifi camera is setup at home and connected to my phone. Whenever my alarm is triggered my camera goes offline. I think someone is intentionally jamming my signals to mess around at my house. It take a while for armed response to get there. How can I secure interference.

If you can run a cable to the camera. I hate wifi cams cause of this. There could be someone jamming it or it could be heavy interference from structure or congested channels etc. Also check for anything like the above post external media player cause those are band hogs.
