WiFi Connection on iPhone 4s running iOS 6

Someone please help me with the problem I have had since upgrading to iOS 6 on my 4s.
I use Settings>Wi-Fi>choose my network>enter password> and I log on. My wi-Fi connects. My phone goes to sleep after a minute or so of inactivity and when I wake it up using the Home button, my Wi-Fi connection is lost and will not automatically reconnect. I then have to repeat the whole logging on process.
This never happened on iOS 5.
I have recovered a few times using iTunes without a fix.
I upgraded my iPad 3 at the same time and it's working fine on my network, as it should.
I am a real noob at this and your help will be appreciated.

I have switched it on and off(Hard reset), switched the Wi-Fi on and off, switched aircraft mode on and off, and nothing seems to stop it from loosing the DHCP settings.
I have even retried resetting my Netgear wireless router, without any luck.
I repeat the upgrade on my iPad 3 is fine and it finds and connects to my Wi-Fi immediately.

I found the problem: My Passcode Lock under settings/General/Passcode Lock was turned on for some or other reason.
Funny how small things can throw one! Two wasted Restore's done thinking it was a software problem.

Same issue here.

Got 3 laptops connecting just fine to my wireless AP. Under iOS5 I never had any issues with my iPad2 connecting to the wifi AP. however, ever since installing iOS6, I've had nothing but connection issues.

Going to roll back to iOS5 tomorrow.

Edit : will first try switching the ipad off and then on again & see if that will fix the issue before doing a restore.

Wifi seems to be more stable. Switched the ipad off and left it off overnight.

Will monitor during the course of the day.
 
Well my iPhone 4s and iPad 3 is great on iOS 6. Just a pity that Apple gave us such a poor Map system. They should have first perfected it then switched apps at a major iOS 6 update. I doubt if I will get the iPhone 5. I will use mine and wait for the next incarnation.
But who knows, I will be in Australia for December so maybe I'll beak down.

Cancel my observations.

My wifi AP just went titsup. Have to replace it. After it's replaced, will continue with testing.

Bleh.
 
Replaced wifi AP with loaner unit.

Much better. Will monitor wifi connectivity, for now it seems to remain connected, and not go offline regularly.
 
I must tell you guys that my 4s is operating so well on iOS6 that I doubt if I will get the 5. I reckon mine is good for the next year or so. I wait till LTE is up and running, and at a decent price.

Glad for you ... , at this stage, I cannot say the same :(
