Wifi disconnects when internet connection stops (MS Windows)

I have an annoying problem with Windows. Every time my internet connection drops (which is kinda regularly), windows drops the wifi connection (I assume its looking for other connections?). This is pretty annoying as I am connected to other devices on the wifi network that I need continued access to even if there is no Internet.

Linux does not do this and Im not sure how to stop Windows from doing this.

Anyone know the solution to this?

It's most likely a WiFi adapter power management issue. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed. If that doesn't work, you can try switching off power saving on WiFi adapter:
