Hello all

I have a TP link TD W8960N at home. 8mbps line speed (copper). Very decent gaming rig.
My problem as follows: When playing online, (international servers: world of tanks, LOL) I found that when my wife would access facebook during my game play time, my ping rises to unplayable pings and huge lag. It seems the wifi takes all bandwidth allocated.

What I would like to know is if there is a way to which I can reduced bandwith on the wifi and keep majority allocated to my PC?
Activating QOS and allocating only a certain speed has very little effect, however I have not tried mac filtering. Would that have have an effect of reducing latency problems I am experiencing or should I opt for another router which allows for that particular purpose to be allocated in specific increments?

Also could a separate AP help in this regard? If so what kind should I opt for?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to do proper QOS that actually works you need to get a Mikrotik router. It's the only router that I've found that actually has QOS that works, although it's quite tricky to initially setup. With my QOS setup and I can be downloading a massive file and simultaneously have a crystal clear Skype or VOIP call with no problem whatsoever, which would be impossible to do without QOS.
