Hey guys,

My current set up is Telkom router in one room, PC with PCI wifi card in next room about 4-5m away through a wall. I want to know whether my online gaming experience (PC and Xbox 360) would benefit by any amount by making this network wired and running a cable instead of using the wifi. Looking at the stability of the connection and latencies, I dont really know the difference wifi makes here.

According to the software that came with the card, my signal strength is generally 97-100% (-39dBm), and noise level seems to stay at 70% (-79dBm). In terms of interferance, possible sources could be a microwave couple of metres away through another wall and a large TV (?) next to the PC.

EDIT: the router is within a metre of a cordless phone also.

in theory there is very little difference with latency. I practice I would run a cable.

PS. if you interested in gaming you should hookup to DWC

Im not really near the city actually, closer to Ballito so I dont think Id be anywhere near it.
