Can someone please help??

I live in Cape Town (Athlone/Bellville area), and i'm thinking about getting wifi and i have a few questions:

1 - Is it really uncapped?
2 - Can a person use bittorrent,kazaa/limewire,irc,etc.
3 - Does the contention ratio reduce my actual speed(download and upload)
4 - Which WISP should i go with. According to Hellkom only Uninet are available?
Are they any good? Are there any alternatives and how good are they?
5 - What potential drawbacks will i experience since i'm new to the whole thing.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Potential drawback: The mountain. Sorry - just had to note that :-)
Have friends who have trouble even getting cell signal in Camps bay... if you're between noordhoek and the flats and the mast is on chapmans however... Contact them and ask for a temp account to test - it's not unreasonable to ask - borrow someone's wifi equipped notebook if you don't yet have the equipment.
