Hey guys what do i need to get to manage my wifi connection my kids are constantly getting me throttled. I want to alocate each with a amount of data each week.

What router do you have?

Then I'll Google and see if you can set allocations per Mac address.

Or create a WiFi network for then that are limited/throttled

Something like IPCop running on an old PC box should do the trick. http://www.ipcop.org/

Might even consider canning the pfSense firewall...

My mikrotik was relegated to being a switch by a unifi security gateway

Ja, the Unifi security gateway is a great option.

The only think stopping me is laziness. pfSense took a while to master, and it chugs away utterly reliably.

I'm slowly getting round to simplifying my life, and this is on the list.
