Hey all

I am thinking of opening a small restaurant and would like to offer Wifi for the Patrons to class the place up a bit.

Now I know Mweb currently gives a system inside places like Mugg and Bean which you either pay for or use your Mweb account. Is there a system online that will allow me to give someone a password for a specific amount of time for an amount of money and be simple to administer so a waiter or generally untrained person can do it?

Am I going to be looking at a custom system or is there some sort of program/system I can use that will give a 30 minute IP/Password at the click of a button (or a few buttons).

Thanks

Rewind, we offer a hotspot solution that might suit you:

Main Features:

1. You set the price
2. Per Megabyte billing
3. Prepaid by credit card. Credits purchased can be re-used.
4. High revenue share with hotspot owner
5. Zero management, your waiters don't have to do anything

Your clientele buy credits online that they can use at any time. They can stay online as long as they want, and only pay for what they download. So you don't have to stress about someone downloading movies and raping your ADSL cap.

See our movie about how it works at www.skyrove.com

If you would like to go the opensource route, have a look at www.chillispot.org.
Some guy also developed a thing called PHPPrepaid (or something like that). I currently use chillispot to test and it seems to work pretty good!

Chillispot is pretty awesome. We use it on our DD-WRT solution (open source firmware for Linksys WRT54GL)

You can also install it on a Linux box, if you have an old PC lying around to use as a router, instead of buying a new one.

With Chillispot you can authenticate to our servers (www.skyrove.com) or to a myriad other Hotspot Billing providers. I think Picapoint is one of them.
