hi

I have always used my wifi system on my laptop to connect to the net..i have a router at home which connects to the adsl line

so today all of a sudden it says 'No wireless networks found in range' and i cant connect through wifi..

im using the lan cable currently. does anyone know what could be the problem. i think today i had some automatic windows updates installed..is there anyway to check which updates were installed and maybe remove them?

i dont have system restore on so i can reverse to a prior day.

I have windows XP.

anyone know what i can do to address the problem

thanks

1. Turn the router off for about 10 seconds and restart.

If this does not solve it goto Step 2

2. Connect to the router check thar WiFi is still active on the router.

If this does not solve it goto Step 3

3. uninstall WiFi adapter on laptop and reinstall.

If after all the above does not work one of 2 things cold be wrong. Either the WiFi on the router or the laptop has stop functioning. If you have a WiFi enabled mobile phone you will be able to check if the router's WiFi is still functioning.

Also check that the WZC in services has started if not start the service.

Good luck

on most laptops, there is a wifi button. it normally flashes blue. what is yours doing?

in windows, is there not an icon that shows whether wifi is on or not?

rightclick the network icon on the right of your taskbar, click "REPAIR". it will disable the wifi card, re-enable it and try.

My Acer gets into a "knot" once every 10 days where it wont connect and I need to do that. Might be cause i sleep instead of shutting down.
