I need to setup a network on a farm for the purpose of surveillance connecting the next farm.I need to know what is the max range for a additional access piont(a router or antenna)

Some of those access points cross more than 12 kilometers I think.

if you in a farm area and you can get Line Of sight between the two points then you should be fine with wifi and it is much cheaper

This set has been tested up to 23km. So it is quite possible to do decent distances with the right equipment.
