Who here writes down their wifi passwords for quick reference when putting into devices, or do you use the password so many times that you easily remember it?

If its someone else's stuff, I always use the same password - 23456789YZ and tell them to change it. Some do, most do not. Saves me remembering what to tell them. For my house, I also restrict it to the MAC address of the PCs in the house

So visitors are SOL? Or do you have a separate guest SSID? I take it your network is probably hidden too? My security probably needs an upgrade :(

If a guest comes, I just add their MAC address to the list. My SSID is broadcast. Where I am sitting I can see 6 wifi networks. One has no security at all but is only a 4% signal and comes and goes

Suggest you set security to WPA2 and use your Cell Number as the password, it works well . Also do this for Clients as they always forget the wireless password

I don't write mine down

How do you remember them then?.. and if you have so many passwords to remember, what if you accidentally put one of your passwords into someone elses router, would you then go and change your password and all your devices?

i do use wpa2 with a lengthy password... wouldnt using a cell number decrease security?, since it would be easy to guess by anyone that knows you.. and since MAC filtering is easy to bypass, the password is the only real deterrent. and if thats gotten, then all traffic can be sniffed by the person being on your wifi...

I only use 3 passwords and I never give it to any one else and only use it on my devices

if I forget my password it's easy enough to look at it on my cellphone. Just go to wifi settings and tick the 'show password' box.
