My current setup is with GWI. I have a CPE mounted to my roof (in bridge mode) connecting to my PC over ethernet. I then authenticate with their access point using PPPOE to access the internet.

My problem: I've got an Linksys WRT54GL. I want to use this to create a hotspot in my house so that i can access the internet from anywhere. How do i set this up? Can I use the linksys router to authenticate and share the internet connection?

Please help guys...i've got 152 more grey hairs because of this. Thanks!

Before you do this make sure the router supports PPPOE and do have a wan port. Im personnaly using a ZyXeL P-320 router and its works 100%,
If you've got previous experiance in doing this try these steps but if you dont have i would recommend that you get one of the gwi guys out.

With GWI myself

Step 1 Change the IP of your bridge xxx.xxx.1.2
Step 2 Plug our cat5 cable from the bridge into the wan port of the router
Step 3 Connect you pc via cat5 with port one on the router.
Step 4 change your TCP/IP settings to automatic and remember to enter a preferred dns
Step 5 Access your router via your explorer
Step 6 make sure your wan settings is correct and supports PPPOE
Step 7 Type in your username and password, choose get ip from isp automaticly and select naled up connection and save. your router should now PPPOE and get all the addresses.
Step 8 Setup up your wireless lan. Choose a ssid and setup a security key to connect to the network,
Step 9 Setup up your DHCP Server, normally you just choose enable.
Step 10 Make sure you save everything. Your router would now assign an ip to your pc and to your notebook or whom ever connects to the network.

Make sure that your connection settings in IE is correct to never dail a connection or to use the network. Also note once you have connected your bridge to your router you wont be able to connect to the bridge through the router, If you still have hassels just contact the gwi guy that did install your bridge and pay him an hours labour to sort it out

Hope it helps if you still strugle check out the webintact thread the guys from gwi also post comments there/
