Could some assist me in setting up a wifi router and service provider? Im not quite sure how to go about it as i want to install it in my home. Is it possible to get AlwaysOn as your service provider? If so, what router do i need? If not, which provider can i use but not pay a huge some of money to every month? Also how much would everything cost me? Installation cant be that hard so that i'll do myself. Thank you

Adsl is your best bet, but it all revolves around what you want to use it for. do you plan on downloading a lot or just basic browsing and a little downloading. have you got a Telephone line at home? my total cost is R562 a month for adsl 1mb business line.

My limited knowledge about AlwaysOn tells me that its a hotspot and can't be your service provider.

i want to use it for my mobile devices including my phones and laptops thats why i thought wifi would be the best as wifi Data are quite cheap but i just dont know how to go about it. what would a normal wifi setup cost me? and what would the data speed be? adsl isnt bad an i favour it but wifi would suit me better

As Zuner said, your best best would be ADSL as your main internet connection. You can then setup a wireless router at your place to share that internet connection amongst your devices. The other option you have is to go with a wireless or even satellite provider, depending on your location and budget. AlwaysOn however cannot be a wireless provider (not unless you live upstairs from a McDonalds or the like that supplies AlwaysOn WiFi. Then too, you cannot use that and share it amongst your devices. Not easily anyway.

not much, 10GB a month would be enough

for me personally adsl is best, 10gb is very little but the wireless options are still pricey compared to dsl. have you already got a telkom voice line at home?

i'm with afrihost and i pay them R149 to manage my 2mb adsl line for me, and then you can get 1gb free adsl data after which its R5 a gig.. you can set it up to auto topup and limit it to 10gb a month.

If you hit your 10gb it'll cost R194 a month for a 2mb line. if you don't already have a telkom voice line thats another R170.

So in total you looking at R364 a month. keep in mind Afrihost aren't the cheapest i just like the way they do things and their service.
