Good morning everyone,

I have a question i.e. using solarpower for wifi spots:

1. How does it work
2. Where do you buy the kit

Has anyone being doing this before? Please give me a indication of where to start ect.

thanks very much,
Werner

Solar power has got allot of complications, so make must make very sure its feasible where you want to put it up

O Yea, and i hope you have allot of money cause you'll need panels, bateries and inverters. So your looking at a few grand there

Cool thanks! Will check it out - any WISPS here in SA using them that you know of?

No not any im aware of, thats what why they dont garrentee 100% uptime, and its too expensive. They probably have that way of thinking that if my power goes off the people connecting to me power will be off too

Ok I am not a WISP, but I have a few towers with solor power. You guys are right it is pricey, expect to pay in the region of about R5k - R7k for a decent setup. Have had no problem as of yet though, no downtime, nothing.

Hey Grommit,

Cool, can you perhaps give me a indication of where we can buy the equipment for the setup?

thanks,
