WiFi Troubles

Hi

Do any of you have trouble downloading apps from Marketplace over wifi? I am able to browse the internet and download mails over the wifi, but it will not allow me to download apps.

At Work: No

Got no idea where to start looking for the problem but it is as irretating as hell!

I have noticed that at my GF's house I can browse the marketplace but not download. 100% sure it is because she is on the Axxess "Just Surf" uncapped..

I have not had this issue on any WiFi networks I've used (even public hotspots).
That is very strange.

If the software supports it, set a static IP.

Yeah, just came back from Joburg using a number of WiFi hotspots around the airport, restaurants, etc - no trouble downloading + updating apps.

Starting to think it might be due to the fact that I have an American account, as soon as it wants to log into Marketplace or Xbox Live over Wifi I get the error.

I also have an American account (with CC) so that's pretty strange.

Had the same problem. @HavocXphere you cant set a static IP.

I could download apps from my work's WiFi, with my home WiFi not allowing me to do so. However, I can't download over WiFi on either now. This goes for both the US and SA accounts on my Omnia 7. Also, I can't download apps over the Zune software either!

Changing the primary DNS to 8.8.8.8 on my router solved this. I can now download and install from the marketplace. I read about it over here:

I first used the Mango beta and then when the unofficial RTM was available, I switched to that.

I tried the DNS trick but that didn't seem to work for me.

Have you tried the DNS fix listed above? It didn't work for me but I ended up downloading over 3G (managed to score a Cell C 5GB sim).

There is a thread here where I have put a bit more information for MWEB (because I am using that) but I am sure the issue is the same for the other ISP's with this issue.
