Hi all,

My PC Specs:
Intel Dual Core 2.0,
1GIG ddr 2 667,
Windows XP SP2.

I have a WIFI USB adapter, when I enable my computer to act as an access point my whole system freezes after a while. How can I solve this?

Ok, it could be the adapter thats faulty or you have a driver issue. First try updating the drivers for the thing then if it still causes the freezing try the adapter in another pc and see if youre getting the same problem. If you are getting the same problem with the latest drivers its most likely that the adapter is faulty

Thanks,

There are no new software updates.
Could to be Windows Zero software is conflicting with the software that came with the WIFI?

It could be that, uninstall the device completely from your pc and then disable widows zero software, then install the software that came with the adapter and reinstall the drivers

How do I disable the Windows Zero software?

I have tried reinstalling and starting of a-fresh, didn't help/

I'm gonna take a long shot, I think the name is Sys-(something), I'll give you the name later on today.

Out of interest - is the range on PCI wifi cards with antennas much better than USB?

I've always avoided USB for the range.
