Live today to the fullest because tomorrow is not
I've got 2 boys (10 and 11 year old) they have been hounding me for a WII - just wanted to know if it's worthwhile getting them one (I've hear that the graphics are not that good ...)

Those of you that have a WII is it still keeping it's appeal or is it gathering dust?

Absolutly.

Especially for your boys. I find that kids care more about having fun than they do about how it looks. A friend of mine has a ps3 as well as one of those cheap ripoff game station things.. His kids play as much on the ripoff thing as they do on the ps3.

The wii can be modded so you can play your games off an external hardrive, so you can keep your disks in a safe place...

go get the wii.
you wont be sorry.
they will love it. and i am sure you will play it too.

Wii defn. Esp since yr 2 boys are yound and around the same age.
They will become competitive.
PS3 for more serious gamers.
Chip it as well

I just ordered the Wii Black limited Ed for the wife, she has been bugging me for a year already for one!!! Personally would never bother with it... I'm a PC fanboi! But sometimes those wifey eyes just make you do anything :)

No need to chip, you can softmod it.

:D at the wife comment!

The black is going for a good price considering that you get a MotionPlus add-on + Sports and Sports Resort with it.

Unfortunately the black Wii has the new DVD drive that makes it impossible to play DVD backups of your games. :( But you can still use a USB HDD.

hmmm... interesting, got a chiped PS2 (was cheaper to chip than replace my stuffed GH2 disc)... PC could read the disc just fine, but the PS2 couldn't...

USB HDD.... maybe I should do a little reading up on the Wii - neva bothered before!
