Nobody seems to be selling SA Wii points yet, and while they probably will later on, I'd kinda like to be able to able to use the internet channel from day one (since I just found out that you can play flash games using the wiimote!)

Points are region locked, though, right? So if I get some from DVDCrave with my next game order, do I just have to change my location from ZA to AU? And do I have to keep on AU, or just when I want to buy something with my points?

Region locked as in PAL/NTSC? If so you should have no issues with purchasing points from DVDCrave.

Points are not region locked, but shopping sort of is. I set my Wii location as the UK - on South Africa you don't any of the channels including the shopping one. This will change obviously.

Also, if you have a credit card, you can buy your Wii points on the console itself. Be warned, it can be fiddly to get the internet connection working - I have a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB adaptor, and unless I shut down all my firewalls, I can't get it to run. If anyone knows how I can bypass this, I'd really appreciate it. Firewall = Zone Alarms.

Wii Points are only locked for PAL or NTSC. So you should be able to use a points card from AU or the UK. You can also use your credit card to purchase points as well.

Firewall issue? You might need to add the ports that the Wii uses to the outgoing ports. The details are on the Wii or Nintendo website, under FAQ or troubleshooting.
