I just got myself a PS3. I have owned an Xbox 360 which I sold. Not to say that the PS3 is better at gaming (its easier to code for Xbox) but what won me over was the added benefit of Blueray and in my opinion, a better current and future line up of exclusives that appeal to me. I dont feel that the Xbox has all that much that makes it stand out in game terms. Ill play Fable III on my PC and maybe even Halo if it gets released but the PS3 games have not and probably never will be released on PC. Gears of War I can easily live without as I didnt enjoy it that much.
PS3 exclusives like Demons Souls, God of War, Unchartered, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo 5 etc are all very much worth it. And for the casual gamer, the issue of poor multi platform releases for the PS3 cannot even be noticed.
Xbox Live is better but PSN is free. The Xbox is cheaper but lacks a Blu-ray. Move or Kinect was a non-issue as Im a lazy gamer. I like the Xbox controller more but it is a little heavier.
Both consoles have their pros and cons but overall, I am enjoying my PS3 quite a lot (because of the exclusive games of course). Its kind of like the iPhone vs Blackberry debate. Everyone has an unfounded opinion because of some sort of brand loyalty or product identification but I owned both and the iPhone in my opinion is better. When someone argues with me about the phones or the consoles, I instantly ask "have you owned both". If they say no then they have no founded opinion but maybe one or 2 facts about GPU's and cell speeds that they base their argument on.
Overall, its simple really.
What is your budget?
Which games do you like more?
Do you watch Blu-ray?
As for everything else, they both do pretty much the same ***...
EDIT* - I just saw that the OP asks about Kinect and Move...My bad but everything I say above still stands.
As for Kinect and Move, I havent used any but to be honest, for me its aimed at a younger market. I could never see myself jumping up and down in front of the TV. For exercise ill go catch a game of 5 a side football with my mates.
I used the Wii and was bored with 15 minutes.
I guess you have to try each one and see which is more responsive. Also, do some research as to what releases each will have an align your purchase with that.
When it comes to price, the PS3 is more expensive as a console but the Move a little cheaper. With all the extras you require for the Move, both the Kinect and Move work out to roughly the same price.
I would say go to a mall on a weekday when all the kids are at school and see which shops have the set up. Play with each for a good 20 minutes and whichever grabs you.
Happy hunting!
