Wikileaks: We're under cyber attack
The whistleblower website WikiLeaks is under cyber attack, it said via Twitter Sunday.

The announcement came shortly before the site is expected to release an enormous new cache of secret documents, possibly of United States diplomatic material.

The site is experiencing a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack, it said. That's an effort to make a website unavailable to users, normally by flooding it with requests for data.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pentagon/CIA/FBI/etc are behind this... :erm:

The documents are still going to be leaked though, they tweeted:
El Pais, Le Monde, Speigel, Guardian & NYT will publish many US embassy cables tonight, even if WikiLeaks goes down

of course :D, but i'd not be surprised if they themselves are doing this for lekker PR stunt.
 
It's nice to have a whistleblower site around... but they also should not be surprised if some of the governments start fighting back.

Moaning did you read there are many other sources for the documents to get through, do you think taking on the US would end well? They have taken precautions and it will be released. They don't do typically things and only have bomb shyte plan.
 
At least it's not hellfire missiles like their comrades in Afghanistan are receiving
