So I was browsing Facebook this weekend (or it might have been late last week), and Wilbur Smith's posts pop up in my feed. I follow him, because I'm a fan of his books.

So he shared this video with the following text: "I miss the smell/odour of my father's fart!"

An hour or so later, it was gone. :crylaugh:

I am now really sorry that I lost the screenshot. I have read most of his books, but cannot recall that being a quote from one of them.

I Must say, the last few books by him, have given me the impression of him being a bit weird and a pervert. The graphic detail describing some horrific deaths: ie.the pigs eating girl scene and description of female pudendas, ( very Pervy ) just for me, is over the top. Vowed never to read his books again.just my 2 cents worth.

Meh, I'll still read it. Doesn't bother me. River God was by far my favourite, followed by Seventh Scroll.

Wilbur Smith has always been graphic. From when The Lion Feeds. I remember feeling disturbed when I read "The Leopard Hunts in Darkness", some of the stuff he talks in there is hectic!

I love his books, read all of them multiple times. I have a first edition "When the Lion Feeds" :D

Sheesh its 2016 and we still have people offended by descriptions of the female genitalia.

No... It's not that, I was just saying how he has gone progressively pervier and pervier, with the detailed description. I never said I was offended, I was just saying something I have noticed as an avid Wilbur Smith reader. I have all his books, and thoroughly enjoy them all.

He has always been very graphic. I remember this from one of the Courtney sagas. I was in school, when the some Courtney or Ballantyne went down on a woman, and the taste of her was described as clean, like that of the sea :crylaugh:
