Has anyone seen or used any of the Wilkinson Sword Knives?
I am looking for some new affordable kitchen knives and came across them.. But I have searched for reviews but I seem to find only their other products...

They are pretty good. Nothing amazing, but better than the cheaper stuff. As long as you know how to sharpen it, any knife will do. The chopping surface is more important than the steel, as is your cleaning procedure.

I have one of their Chef Knives, as mentioned above it's good but nothing special. If you want something better look at Scanpan.

Hmm, I have seen some terrible reviews about Scanpan knives. From blades to handles both breaking. Could be that those people were abusing them though...

Have been using Wilkinson Sword for quite some time. Am very happy with them. Easy to clean. Have kept their sharpness well.

Could be.. haven't had any problems with mine though, been using it for a couple of years now.

I have just one Wilkinson Sword knife in my kitchen and it's used every day, had it like 18 years at least. Brilliant quality.
It works chop chop

Can't fault them. We've have a couple of them that we've had for ages.

Also have Wilkinson sword and am very happy. Need to figure out how to sharpen them as they are not as sharp as when I got them 5 years back.

I have had one for 16 years or so. It has no chips in the blade, and can be sharpened to be quite decent and keeps it's edge reasonably well. It has had a rough life since I bought it as my first knife when I was a student. It has lived through my amateur sharpening using a variety of stuff, the dishwasher, cutting things directly in the plate and living in the utensil drawer.
I would definitely recommend it if you're on a budget.

Compare that to my PnP Prestige knife which has multiple chips in the blade, and is completely useless.

That said, I saw a Wilkinson Sword Chefs knife for R400 on Takealot, and for that price you might be lucky enough to pick up something like a Global or Victorinox on sale.

I have a Wilkson Sword Chef knife very happy with it - use the verimark sharper on it and no issues at all. I watched my SO take apart whole chickens with it and with ease.

Paid R70.00 for it a Pick n Pay in Northgate about 3 years ago.

Side Note SO is afraid of horror movies that have blood and gore while I prefer movies like that. Watching her breakdown a chicken makes me uneasy :crylaugh:

You really want to sharpen (or hone if you want to get technical) with every use.
