I ordered the sim and this modem, but just found out RAIN only works on 4G.

I'm really confused about the difference between 4G and LTE, can anyone explain the difference? Will my modem work?

Started to panic after seeing this post:
My current Huawei E8372 LTE stick doesn't work.

Where did you get that post. My usb stick is fooked. Doesn't have anything to do with Rain.

I can't get local wifi even. I have in the past set my phone which I use as a router as 3G only and then Rain doesn't work. Enabling it as 4G it does work. My understanding LTE is 4G

Ah okay, so it's just busted then... Whew! Thanks for the clarification.

Looking forward to using Rain until Fibre gets installed! Sick of Telkom 4mbps

What speeds can I expect around midnight to 6am? I know it depends on coverage and such - just looking for a ballpark speed. Very new to RAIN, not sure if the network is saturated at this point or whats going on.

Should be between 1Mb to 4Mb per seconds but varies. 4mbps is about 0.5Mb. Only bad thing is during the day it can be really slow because of congestion.

The 1800 frequency is very congested. I only get about 3 to 4 Mbps. My Rain fixed I can force it to the 2600 band which gives me up to 50 Mbps

whut? why is LTE running only at 1 - 4Mbps on Rain, especially after hours? This is a 150Mbps capable modem
I saw people getting 20Mbps, 50Mbps, etc on Rain speedtests.

Are you telling me it was pointless getting Rain LTE?

WTF... Is the network so over saturated or what? I'm talking 2AM downloads here, not 7PM.

Megabyte not megabit

Yeah your post was confusing as you said you get "1-4mb, and 4mbit translates to 0.5Mb."

Ok so you're connecting between 8 - 32 Mbps? That makes more sense then!
Yeah 1-4 MB/s is fast enough for me

Just did a test now. 7.1 Mbps down , that's less than a MB.
